What Is DriveHub?

DriveHub is the OAuth application that powers the Google Drive integration inside the DriveHub WordPress plugin, developed by Sovlix. When a WordPress site administrator installs DriveHub and clicks "Connect Google Account," they are redirected to Google's authorization screen via this application. Once authorized, DriveHub can read and manage Google Drive files on behalf of the site administrator to display, upload, and embed files on their WordPress website.

What DriveHub Does

• Connects a WordPress website to a Google Drive account via OAuth 2.0
• Reads Google Drive file and folder listings to display them on WordPress pages
• Allows WordPress site visitors to upload files directly to specified Google Drive folders
• Embeds Google Drive documents, PDFs, images, and videos inline on WordPress pages
• Supports role-based folder access - assigns specific Drive folders to WordPress user roles
• Operates without storing any files on the WordPress server

Google Drive Permission DriveHub Requests

DriveHub requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive OAuth scope. Google describes this permission as the ability to see, edit, create, and delete all files in the connected Google Drive account. DriveHub currently requests this full Drive permission for every connection.

Folder choices inside the DriveHub interface control which folders its modules display or use, but they do not reduce the account-level permission granted on Google's consent screen. DriveHub uses the permission to provide the following user-facing features:

• Google Drive file access - to read file listings, metadata, and thumbnails for display on your WordPress site
• Google Drive upload access - to allow file uploads from your website to your Drive folders
• Google account email - to identify which account is connected and display it in the plugin settings

Because the granted scope covers the entire connected Drive, DriveHub is technically able to access files outside folders selected in its settings. DriveHub uses Google data only for administrator-configured DriveHub features and does not access Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or any other Google service.

What Google User Data Is Collected

The following Google user data is collected and stored when you connect your Google account to DriveHub:

• OAuth Access Token - short-lived credential (1-hour expiry) used to make Google Drive API requests
• OAuth Refresh Token - long-lived credential used to obtain new access tokens; stored encrypted in your WordPress database
• Google Account Email Address - stored solely to identify the connected account in plugin settings
• Google Drive File Metadata - file names, IDs, MIME types, thumbnail URLs fetched on demand; not permanently stored on your server

DriveHub may retrieve or stream file contents on demand when an administrator or site visitor uses a configured browse, preview, embed, download, or upload feature. DriveHub does not permanently copy those file contents to the WordPress server. It never collects your Google password or data from any other Google service.

Data Privacy & Security

• Google user data is never sold, shared, or transferred to third parties
• OAuth tokens are stored only in your own WordPress database on your own server
• Sovlix does not retain copies of your tokens after the connection is established
• All communication uses HTTPS (TLS encryption)
• You can revoke access at any time from myaccount.google.com/permissions or from the DriveHub settings page

DriveHub's use of Google user data adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who Uses DriveHub

DriveHub is used exclusively by WordPress site administrators who install the DriveHub plugin on their own websites. End users of those WordPress sites interact with Google Drive files through the plugin's frontend interface - they do not authenticate directly through DriveHub unless the site administrator has configured user-level Drive access.
