# How to Track Downloads, Uploads and Views with Analytics

Do you want to know which of your Google Drive files people download, watch and search for the most? You can easily do this with **DriveHub**.

DriveHub **Analytics** records what visitors do in your DriveHub modules: downloads, uploads, previews, video and audio streams, shares and searches. You see it all on one clear page, and DriveHub can even email you a short report on a schedule.

**Note:** This needs DriveHub Pro.

Here is an easy, step-by-step guide to help you set it all up!

## Step 1: Turn On Analytics

DriveHub only records activity once Analytics is on:

- Go to **DriveHub** > **Settings** from your WP-Admin.
- Click on **Analytics** under **Features** in the settings menu.
- Turn on **Enable Analytics**.

- Under **Keep data for**, choose how long DriveHub keeps the activity: **3 months**, **6 months**, **12 months** or **Forever**. Older activity is cleaned up automatically every night.

## Step 2: Get Email Reports (optional)

If you'd like a summary in your inbox:

- Scroll down to **Email reports**.
- Turn on **Email Reporting**.
- Choose an **Email Report Frequency**: **Daily**, **Weekly** or **Monthly**.
- Type one or more addresses in **Email Report Recipients**, separated by commas, for example `emily.clark@example.com, team@summitstudio.example.com`.

Weekly reports go out on Mondays and monthly reports on the first day of the month. Each email lists how many downloads, uploads, previews and other actions happened in that period. If nothing happened, DriveHub skips the email.

## Step 3: Save Your Changes

- Click on **Save changes** in the bar at the bottom of the screen.

[![The Save changes button in the bar at the bottom of the screen](https://sovlix.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/drivehub-analytics-04-save-changes.webp)](https://sovlix.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/drivehub-analytics-04-save-changes.webp)

Don't forget to save; tracking and reports only start after you click **Save changes**.

## Step 4: Open the Analytics Page

- Go to **DriveHub** > **Analytics**.

At the top, you see one large tile for your busiest activity and smaller tiles for the rest: **Downloads**, **Uploads**, **Previews**, **Streams**, **Shares** and **Searches**. Each tile shows the total for the chosen dates, a small trend line and how much it went up or down compared to the period before.

**Tip:** If you skipped Step 1, the page says **Analytics is off**. Click on **Turn on analytics** to start recording right from here.

## Step 5: Pick a Date Range

- Click on the date button above the tiles (it shows **Last 30 days** at first).
- Choose a quick range: **Today**, **Yesterday**, **Last 7 days**, **Last 30 days**, **Last 90 days**, **This month**, **Last month** or **All time**.
- Or pick two days in the calendar and click **Apply**.

Every tile, chart and list on the page updates to the dates you pick.

## Step 6: Read the Chart and Top Lists

- **Activity over time:** Shows each type of activity per day. Click a name in the legend to hide or show that line, and hover over the chart to see the numbers for a day.

- **Event log:** Lists every single action with what happened, the page it happened on and the date. Click **Load more** to see older events.

- **Top users** and **Top files:** Show who is most active and which files are most popular. Use the menu in each panel's corner to switch between **Downloads**, **Uploads**, **Previews**, **Streams**, **Shares** and **Searches**.

## Step 7: Export or Clear Your Data

- Click on the **Export CSV** button next to the date button to download the activity for the chosen dates as a spreadsheet file.
- To start fresh, click on the three-dot **More actions** menu and choose **Clear statistics**. DriveHub asks you to confirm first, because this can't be undone.

And that's it! From now on, every download, upload, preview, stream, share and search in your DriveHub modules shows up here.

**Note:** To let a teammate see this page, give them the **Analytics Page** in **Settings** > **User Access**. Our guide on [how to let other users use DriveHub in the dashboard](https://sovlix.com/docs/how-to-let-other-users-use-drivehub-in-the-dashboard/) shows how.
